OOC: Klaus Heinz von dem Eberbach is from the series From Eroica With Love, first started in 1976. This means he's a fairly old character first created in a much different time.
Klaus is a straight-forward workaholic. He's homophobic, racist, doesn't trust women, doesn't like crossdressers, doesn't like hedonists or gaudy people who show off their wealth as well as numerous other things.
When he was young his mother died and he was raised by his father who was in the German defense forces during WWII. While he calls his father a pain in the ass and usually doesn't talk about him very nicely, he also has a lot of respect for his military career. His father didn't know how to raise a child so he ended up raising him as a soldier.
As such Klaus is a completely relentless Major who works for NATO. His men fear him, his boss hates him, and most people find him unbearable to be around.
Unfortunately for him a famous thief who calls himself Eroica (actually named Dorian) has decided he's attracted to Klaus. Throughout the series Klaus keeps meeting up with Dorian over and over again, often being forced to work with him no matter how much he can't stand it. Klaus doesn't understand Dorian's love for art, and at first Dorian doesn't understand Klaus' militaristic lifestyle. When they're trapped together, however, Dorian notices that Klaus is actually a passionate man as well - instead of loving art he loves tanks.
Klaus isn't as openminded about Dorian and hates that Dorian keeps popping up everywhere.

Klaus also has 26 men who work for him, each named after a letter of the alphabet. A is his second-in-command, while Z is the new recruit who looks up to Klaus. He constantly threatens to ship his men to Alaska when they don't live up to his impossible standards. His men live in constant fear of provoking Klaus' wrath and being sent away from their friends and family.
Oddly, Klaus seems to take a liking for Z, and when all the other men get punished Z tends to be left out one way or another (usually because he isn't involved with what the others are doing).

Klaus also attends Church. He respects religion and will go out of his way to protect it. He also donates large sums of money even though he sleeps during the priest's homily. It's his favorite Church because the homilies are "just the right length" to take a nap.
On that note, Klaus works on an extremely tight schedule. He wakes up at the exact same time, goes to bed at the same time, and does everything on a rigid schedule down to the second. He yells at his butler when the clock is four seconds off, and lodges a complaint when the priest preaches longer than usual because it throws off his clock. To go to sleep he always sings, "Mary had a little lamb" and usually falls asleep almost right away.
Anything that disturbs Klaus' order is met with hostility. It's difficult to say if Klaus actually has a disorder that throws him off if things aren't just right or if his military upbringing has caused him to be so anal retentive. I like to think of it as a combination, because any disruption upsets him so much and can throw him off balance.
All of that said, Klaus actually isn't a terrible person. Even if he hates someone he knows it's his job to protect them. He does what he can to protect his men; when they're captured they never doubt whether or not Klaus will come for them. He pushes himself to the limit to complete his missions and risks his life many times. Despite all his flaws he's actually trying to keep peace in the world, preventing world leaders from being assassinated and terrorist attacks.

Klaus speaks German, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish and Russian. He's 6'2", 174lbs.
